Increasing Student’s Employability with ASAP Systems Inventory System

Reading Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center (RMCTC) provides career and technical education, including programs for students with special needs. RMCTC struggled to create a realistic employment setting for those students in its retail and distribution training: tracking and locating supplies with Excel was cumbersome, QR codes proved ineffective, and students needed a faster, scannable system to learn real-world inventory skills.

RMCTC implemented ASAP Systems’ barcode-based inventory system to manage fewer than 1,000 consumable items by category and variant. Students now scan requisitions, accurately track and deliver supplies, and maintain up-to-date counts—reducing unnecessary orders and costs while giving students practical scanning and warehouse experience that boosts employability.
