A BarCloud by ASAP Systems Case Study
Belmont University School of Nursing, which operates six clinical simulation labs to train students in realistic practice settings, struggled to track hundreds of medical supplies and simulation assets across multiple storage and lab locations. Without an automated system, faculty relied on time‑consuming manual counts and guesses, lost track of where items were or who used them, and had difficulty monitoring batch/lot numbers and expiration dates or scheduling equipment maintenance.
Belmont implemented ASAP Systems Passport (Stock Inventory and Passport Mobile) with a mobile barcode scanner and support, creating a centralized, real‑time inventory and asset database. Mobile scanning, location min/max triggers with SMS/email alerts, and batch/expiration tracking enabled faster, more accurate counts, eliminated stock shortages, improved supply availability for lessons, and allowed proactive maintenance scheduling—reducing waste, saving time, and increasing accountability.
