Carta Chooses Banyan Security for Zero Trust Remote Access

Carta, the San Francisco-based financial technology company behind capitalization table management and valuation software, needed a more scalable and secure way to provide remote access for employees, developers, and third parties. Its existing open source VPN was cumbersome to manage, slow under load, and struggled to support the company’s growing remote access needs. Carta turned to Banyan Security and its Banyan Zero Trust Remote Access solution to replace the traditional VPN approach.

With Banyan Security, Carta moved from network-centric VPN access to application-level Zero Trust access integrated with Okta identity verification and continuous device trust checks. The rollout improved performance, gave users faster one-click access to internal applications, and provided better visibility and telemetry for security and operations teams. Carta has moved about 90% of its traffic to Banyan Security, and the company reported significant improvements in speed, transparency, and overall remote access management.
