Paracosm, a division of Occipital, builds the PX-80 handheld 3D scanner for mapping large indoor and outdoor spaces. The team needed an easy way to deploy software updates across their PX-80 fleet, and chose Balena to simplify device software distribution and make updates seamless.

Using Balena and its Docker-based workflow, Paracosm was able to deploy a build within hours, test code changes on internal devices, and push production releases to customers in the field. Balena’s fleet management tools, including device tags and filters, helped Paracosm monitor device versions and reduce the effort of maintaining their own deployment system.
