Case Study: Emerging Markets Payments achieves PCI DSS compliance and stronger vendor access control with BalaBit Shell Control Box

A BalaBit Case Study

Preview of the Emerging Markets Payments Case Study

PCI DSS Compliance at Leading Financial Services Provider

Emerging Markets Payments needed a stronger way to meet PCI DSS requirements and control third-party vendor access to its payment systems. Its existing Cisco VPN provided secure remote access, but not enough visibility or auditability into what vendors were doing, so the company evaluated BalaBit’s Shell Control Box (SCB) along with other options.

BalaBit implemented SCB as a virtual appliance to monitor and control SSH and Citrix ICA sessions, with session recording, granular access limits, strong authentication, and long-term audit trails. The transition from testing to production took just 3–4 days, and EMP gained comprehensive monitoring, faster session search, and better reporting with transparent access for vendors.
