Kapsch streamlines tolling across 2 US systems with BairesDev

Kapsch, a provider of traffic management software, needed to adapt its tolling system software for two major US roadways: California's Interstate 15 and State Route 9, and Georgia's state highways. The challenge involved customizing the software to enable free-flowing traffic, integrating it with existing systems, and performing rigorous debugging and testing. Kapsch turned to BairesDev for staff augmentation to fill expertise gaps in their internal team.

BairesDev assembled teams that created software documentation, debugged the customized systems, and developed scripts and templates to generate fixes and automate testing. The solution consolidated express lane systems, added dynamic pricing, and simplified toll collection enforcement for California. In Georgia, the system made it simpler for customers to manage their accounts. The outcome eased traffic congestion for the over 300,000 daily drivers on I-15 and the over 20 million annual express lane trips in Georgia.
