Associated Press - Customer Case Study

Associated Press, the global news organization, needed to move off its legacy Classic ASP platform so it could deliver news consistently across its website, mobile apps, and social media channels. With internal resources stretched thin and legacy systems lacking clear documentation and controls, AP engaged BairesDev for staff augmentation and migration support, using technologies including .NET, SQL Server, C#, and Salesforce.

BairesDev assembled vetted engineers to help migrate AP’s content and legacy databases to the .NET framework and build a more scalable, well-documented platform. The work included moving nearly 20 news sections and 3.65 million historical stories, while supporting ongoing publishing. The migration also helped AP serve 1.5 million app users, 6 social media channels with over 56 million followers, and access to roughly 40 million photographs and 2 million videos.
