First-of-Its-Kind Learner Record Helps UNT Students Build, Track, and Share Marketable Skills

The University of North Texas (UNT) wanted to help students not only build marketable skills, but also understand, visualize, and communicate those skills to employers. To solve this, UNT partnered with Badgr and its Badgr Pro platform to create a Comprehensive Learner Record (CLR) that captures badges and credentials alongside traditional academic achievements.

Badgr implemented a verifiable digital record and badge-based learning pathways that let UNT students stack badges into micro-credentials and full skill credentials, while using dashboards and analytics to track progress and sharing. The result was a more meaningful way for students to present their achievements, early evidence of improved persistence and outcomes, and a scalable model that UNT says can support learners and employers with trusted, interoperable skill verification.
