Case Study: Union Water Supply System enhances drinking water quality with Badger Meter pipe::scan

A Badger Meter Case Study

Preview of the Union Water Supply System (uwss) Case Study

Union Water Supply System saves 300,000 gallons a year with Badger Meter

The Union Water Supply System (UWSS), a water utility in Ontario, Canada, struggled with the labor-intensive and costly process of manually monitoring water quality at its remote Albuna Water Tower site, especially during winter. To overcome this challenge and maintain consistent water quality standards, UWSS worked with vendor Badger Meter to implement its pipe::scan monitoring system.

Badger Meter's pipe::scan solution provided continuous, remote monitoring of 10 water quality parameters directly from the pipe. This eliminated the need for manual sampling, reduced calibration frequency, and cut maintenance time by 66%. The solution also conserved water, saving an estimated 300,000 gallons annually. UWSS was so impressed with the results that it installed a second unit at another station.
