Preview of the Spanish Water Utility Case Study

Spanish Water Utility reduces maintenance with Badger Meter’s chlorine monitoring, changing electrolyte only once a year

A Spanish water utility faced challenges with its disinfection control process at a drinking water pumping station. Their existing equipment required frequent maintenance, used chemicals that degraded in heat, and provided unreliable measurements. Badger Meter, supplying s::can sensors and a controller, provided a solution.

Badger Meter implemented a Digital Instrument Dosing (DID) system featuring chlori::lyser, condu::lyser, and pH::lyser sensors controlled by a con::lyte terminal. This solution eliminated the need for chemical reagents and pH correction, drastically reducing maintenance. The utility achieved constant, accurate monitoring, significantly lowered costs, and ensured the water remained safe for consumption without sacrificing measurement accuracy.
