YouK launches a scalable PWA in 6 weeks with Bad Dinosaur

YouK, a digital platform helping users make purchasing choices that support the environment, UK workers, and public services, faced the challenge of making it easy for people to shop locally. Prior to their platform, customers had to rely on time-consuming online research as there was no reliable resource to present coherent retailer data. They partnered with Bad Dinosaur to design and build a consumer-facing application.

Bad Dinosaur designed and developed a Progressive Web Application as a Minimum Viable Product, utilizing YouK's extensive database of UK-made goods. The solution included a clear rating system for products and was built in six weeks using an agile workflow. Following user testing and iterative improvements, the YouK app was successfully launched to the public in April 2019, hosted on Bad Dinosaur's scalable managed cloud infrastructure.
