VINCI Concessions was struggling with unreliable, tape-based backups, limited retention and the need to guarantee trustworthy restores across a mixed Windows/Linux environment with many databases. Having used Bacula Community for years, VINCI Concessions moved to Bacula Systems’ Bacula Enterprise Edition to get stronger verification, longer retention and cross-platform support to reduce human tape errors and meet growing data protection requirements.

VINCI Concessions upgraded to Bacula Enterprise Edition with help from Bacula Systems, completing the upgrade in one day plus a day of validation and deploying file daemons and two storage daemons across a second site. The result: consistent, fast disk-to-disk backups and quick restores (even from indexed tape when needed), the ability to restart failed jobs without redoing large transfers (avoiding redoing ~1.8 TB in a cited case), extended retention, a stable 9:00–10:30 p.m. backup window, and responsive Bacula Systems support that resolved issues within two to three days.
