Sky, Europe’s leading entertainment company, needed a more modern, comprehensive backup and restore solution to handle rapid data growth and strict uptime requirements—losing a single virtual machine could immediately prevent 300–400 people from working. To meet these needs Sky selected Bacula Systems and its Bacula Enterprise Edition to provide unified protection for both virtual and physical environments.

Bacula Systems deployed Bacula Enterprise Edition to protect Sky’s ~45 TB environment running on two 2-node HP ProLiant DL360p Gen8 servers with fiber-attached HP MSA storage, delivering fast, out-of-the-box backups and restores (no custom scripts), modular growth options, and consolidated management. The result was quicker restores, reduced time spent maintaining scripts, preserved uptime for critical operations, and improved flexibility and support—achieving the rapid recovery SLAs Sky required.
