Outfittery Selects Bacula Enterprise Edition

Outfittery, Europe’s largest personal shopping service for men, needed a reliable backup solution for a cloud-only virtual environment that could write backups both to cloud and locally, deliver strong deduplication to cut disk usage, and remain cost-effective. After evaluating options, Outfittery selected Bacula Systems and its Bacula Enterprise Edition to meet these requirements.

Bacula Systems implemented Bacula Enterprise Edition with its Global Endpoint Deduplication™ (client-side dedupe plus optional compression) to back up ten Windows virtual servers and a mirrored SQL database; the solution was tested then rolled out. Bacula Systems’ approach delivered dramatic savings (up to ~90% reduction in backup target size for largely similar systems), a subscription price point far lower than competitors (reported 4–5× cheaper than Veeam/Veritas), faster support and troubleshooting, and enabled Outfittery to maintain a flexible, cloud-only infrastructure with lower storage and bandwidth costs.
