Brazil's Regional Court of Justice Protects its Data and Enjoys Outstanding ROI Using Bacula Enterprise and Bacula Brasil e América Latina

The Regional Labor Court in Campinas needed a new backup solution that would integrate with an existing mix of backups, support roughly 300 physical and virtual clients and about 120 TB of data (Linux/Windows servers, Oracle/Postgres, LTO tape and disk), and — critically — not charge by data volume. After initially deploying the Bacula community edition, the court engaged Bacula Systems (with Bacula Brasil e América Latina) to move to the supported Bacula Enterprise and to obtain vendor support services.

Bacula Systems and Bacula Brasil e América Latina implemented Bacula Enterprise (with Global Endpoint Deduplication, VMware and MySQL plugins and Bacula Management Suite), provided high-level support and knowledge transfer, and completed planning through deployment in two months with no significant issues. The result was an excellent ROI driven by Bacula Systems’ annual subscription model that imposes no data-volume licensing, allowing the court to grow beyond ~120 TB without increased license costs while maintaining stability and reliable backups.
