Maker’s Mark launches Star Hill Farm at Selfridges with Backlash, driving two sell-outs in 6 weeks

Maker's Mark, the renowned bourbon whiskey brand, sought to launch its new sustainable product line, Star Hill Farm, with an engaging visual merchandising display at Selfridges in London. Their challenge was to create two striking displays: one for a high-profile window to attract street attention and another for the in-store wine shop to drive engagement and conversion. They enlisted the vendor, Backlash, for creative concept, design, and production.

Backlash developed the 'Nature as the Maker' concept, creating fully sustainable displays using real wheat fields and recycled materials. The window featured a dramatic field and sky backdrop with dynamic lighting, which successfully drew footfall into the store. The six-week activation by Backlash exceeded expectations, resulting in the product selling out twice during the campaign and successfully introducing Star Hill Farm to a new, premium audience.
