A Backblaze Case Study
Streamlabs, a leading provider of live streaming tools, faced a challenge when developing its new video collaboration service, Oslo. The pricing models and deletion penalties from other major cloud storage providers made it impossible for them to hit their product's affordability targets without drastically increasing the subscription cost for their users.
By implementing Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage, Streamlabs found a solution. Backblaze's model of only charging for current storage—with no penalties for deleted files—and its Native API enabled key features like secure upload links. This resulted in storage costs that were up to three times lower, making the product's pricing feasible and allowing Streamlabs to successfully launch the service.
