Sardius Media, a live video broadcasting and on-demand media delivery platform, needed a cloud-agnostic storage solution that prioritized speed, redundancy, and affordability for its global clientele. Their challenge was to ensure the fastest possible delivery of video content to end-users while eliminating single points of failure and managing costs effectively. Backblaze implemented its S3-compatible B2 Cloud Storage into Sardius's custom race mechanism, which tests multiple providers to see which can deliver a requested file the fastest. The results showed that Backblaze wins the race a majority of the time in the U.S. and up to 80% of the time globally. This performance, combined with features like 3x free egress, provided Sardius with a high-performing, durable, and cost-effective storage solution at scale.
