Building a customer-centric website as the foundation of an omni-channel strategy

Hellenic Bank, one of Cyprus’s largest banks with 51 retail branches, faced a legacy web banking service and disparate digital channels while aiming to become a leader in omni-channel digital banking. To modernize its customer experience and unify channels, Hellenic Bank selected the Backbase platform as the foundation for its digital transformation.

Using the Backbase platform, Hellenic Bank implemented a mobile-first strategy (building a hybrid mobile banking app in six months), created a customer-centric website that now serves as the bank’s central sales platform, and launched open-banking capabilities including six public APIs and a Marketplace by September 2017. Backbase enabled easier product comparison, improved engagement and a first-mover advantage in Open Banking for Hellenic Bank.
