BRD optimizes customer and employee experiences with two Backbase-powered apps

BRD, part of Groupe Société Générale and Romania’s second-largest retail bank, faced slow delivery, legacy infrastructure and a fragmented architecture that limited digital differentiation and employee efficiency. To build a unified front-end and an employee portal that support an online/offline hybrid experience across mobile, web, branch and contact center channels, BRD partnered with Backbase and adopted the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform and Backbase Digital Assist.

Backbase delivered two Backbase-powered solutions: the YOU customer mobile and web app and the OCP Branch employee portal (built with Backbase Digital Assist), unifying four channels into one platform and providing a 360° employee view. The result: as of Q3 2021 the YOU app reached 600,000 active users with nearly 600,000 monthly transactions, BRD increased release velocity (11 releases in 10 months), improved employee productivity and satisfaction, and created measurable upsell/cross-sell opportunities and lower cost-to-serve.
