Case Study: Delfood-Délitraiteur achieves rapid, low‑cost EDI migration and AS2 adoption with Babelway

A Babelway Case Study

Preview of the Delfood-Délitraiteur Case Study

For Delfood, it’s the innovative approach, producing fast results without any initial investment, that makes Babelway the best solution for B2B integration

Delfood-Délitraiteur, the Belgian wholesale subsidiary of the Louis Delhaize group serving around 500 clients and 300–400 employees, faced the need to replace an aging EDI gateway, move to AS2 and avoid VAN costs while keeping setup simple and pragmatic. They selected Babelway’s B2B integration Software‑as‑a‑Service for its innovative, low‑investment approach and faster, less cumbersome EDI projects.

Babelway delivered a cloud‑based migration (no hardware or software investment) supporting AS2 and SFTP transport and EANCOM and proprietary XML formats; the bulk of the work took about three months and the full shutdown of the old platform was completed within six months at a cost of a few thousand Euros. As a result, Delfood‑Délitraiteur now exchanges messages with roughly 100 partners (up from about 60), has abandoned VANs, improved incident management and partner onboarding, and achieved clear time and cost benefits through Babelway’s flexible SaaS solution.
