Newmont Mining Corporation required a reliable power source for its mining operations in northern Nevada. To meet this need, they engaged Babcock & Wilcox to provide a coal-fired boiler and a comprehensive air quality control system for their new TS Power Plant.

Babcock & Wilcox supplied and implemented a 220 MW pulverized coal boiler alongside a full suite of environmental technologies, including low NOx burners, an SCR system, a dry FGD system, and a fabric filter for particulate control. This solution ensured the plant met stringent emissions requirements while generating power for Newmont's commercial operation, which began in 2008.
