Junckers Industrier A/S commissions 16.5 MWe wood-fired CHP plant with Babcock & Wilcox

Junckers Industrier A/S, Denmark's largest wood processor, needed a solution to utilize its wood waste to supply power and heat to its manufacturing facility. They contracted with Babcock & Wilcox Renewable to build a new multifuel-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant using Vølund™ waste-to-energy technology.

Babcock & Wilcox implemented a turnkey CHP plant that fires waste wood, oil, and biogas. The solution included specialized combustion equipment and an electrostatic precipitator for emissions control. The resulting plant delivers significant output, including 64 t/h of steam and 16.5 MWe of turbine power, achieving a 90% boiler efficiency and supplying the factory with its required energy.
