IVM increases waste-to-energy capacity from 20 to 24 t/h with Babcock & Wilcox

IVM, a waste-to-energy plant operator, required a solution to increase capacity and extend the operational life of its facility in Eeklo, Belgium. Babcock & Wilcox was contracted to replace superheaters and perform on-site Inconel cladding to address these challenges.

Babcock & Wilcox delivered and installed three new Inconel-cladded superheaters and clad approximately 116 m² of boiler wall on-site. This upgrade allowed IVM to increase its waste processing capacity from 20 to 24 tons per hour, raise steam production, and extend the superheater's life to match the plant's permitted operation through 2036.
