Basin Electric Power Cooperative brings Dry Fork Station online in 2011 with Babcock & Wilcox's 400 MW boiler

Basin Electric Power Cooperative required a new coal-fired power generation facility. They selected Babcock & Wilcox to provide a comprehensive solution, which included a pulverized coal-fired boiler and advanced air quality control equipment for their Dry Fork Station.

Babcock & Wilcox designed and supplied a 400 MW RB Carolina-type boiler equipped with their AireJet low NOx burners and a selective catalytic reduction system to meet environmental standards. Their scope also included pulverizers, a dry bottom ash system, and intelligent sootblowing technology. The plant was successfully constructed and commissioned, achieving commercial operation in 2011.
