Ag Processing Inc deploys Babcock & Wilcox CFB boiler producing 311,000 lb/h steam

AG Processing Inc, a soy bean processing plant in Hastings, Nebraska, required a new steam generation solution to support its operations. They selected Babcock & Wilcox to provide a coal-fired internal recirculation circulating fluidized-bed (IR-CFB) boiler designed to burn Powder River Basin coal.

Babcock & Wilcox designed and supplied a complete boiler island solution, which included advanced environmental controls like limestone injection for SO2 reduction and an SNCR system for NOx control. The boiler's unique two-stage solids collection system, featuring U-beams and a multi-cyclone dust collector, provided superior efficiency with lower maintenance requirements. The boiler successfully achieved commercial operation in 2009, supplying 311,000 lb/h of steam for the plant's processing needs while meeting stringent emissions standards.
