Babble helps global information provider put on-premise DDoS mitigation solution to the test

The British Library, a world-renowned UK government organisation, needed confidence that its on-premise DDoS mitigation appliance would protect critical digital services and intellectual property under real attack conditions. As more of its services moved online, the library wanted to validate not just the technology, but also the people, processes and response plans behind its cyber resilience strategy with help from Babble Cloud.

Babble Cloud designed and ran controlled 90-minute DDoS simulation tests against a designated target server, using three attack types at 25%, 50% and 105% of available internet bandwidth. The exercises verified that the mitigation appliance performed effectively, revealed areas needing improvement, and led to successful retesting after fixes were applied. The programme also improved readiness, strengthened the Cyber Attack Run Book, and gave the British Library greater confidence in its DDoS mitigation strategy.
