Tenex Contractors, founded by industry veteran Don Pearson in early 2021, is a Burlington, Wisconsin–based grading, excavation and road construction firm. Starting a new company meant Pearson needed a fast, reliable estimating process that worked remotely, handled subcontractor and vendor quote comparisons, and let him produce roughly 200 bids a year without sacrificing accuracy.
Tenex implemented B2W Estimate, which was up and running within a week and provides prepopulated cost databases, templates, an error-check wizard and quick bid-comparison tools. The software is at least twice as fast as Excel while improving consistency and accuracy, enabling more bids and more work won—illustrated by a $1M municipal project with only a $4,000 variance between estimate and actual.
