A B2W Software Case Study
Jakes Construction, a civil contractor based in Chilliwack, BC, supported the Trans Mountain Expansion Project with 6–10 crews, more than 70 staff and 50+ pieces of equipment, generating up to about $4M/month at peak. Because the project was 100% time-and-materials, Jakes had to deliver daily reports to five different general contractors—each using its own spreadsheet—while also tracking subcontractor activity, First Nation participation, and greenhouse gas and fuel use. The redundant data entry created a heavy administrative burden.
Jakes standardized reporting using B2W Track, showing customized B2W reports to the general contractors who agreed to adopt them in place of their spreadsheets. That change eliminated daily reentry, saved more than 2,000 administrative hours (a 66% reduction in admin time), enabled the company to scale field production and more than triple monthly revenue on the job, and provided single-source reports for billing, First Nation reporting, equipment classification and other compliance needs.
