Ajax Paving - Customer Case Study

Ajax, founded in 1951, is a road-construction leader operating in Michigan and Florida, handling projects from residential and commercial paving to highways, airports and race tracks. When the maintenance team set out to find a payroll solution for mechanics they discovered a bigger need: a computerized maintenance management system to move from reactive repairs to proactive reliability improvements and lower maintenance costs.

Ajax implemented B2W Maintain (and B2W Inform for electronic inspections), automating preventive maintenance notifications, work orders, parts/inventory, mechanic scheduling and telematics imports from GeoTab and VisionLink. Tablets cut inspection time by about 30 minutes and trigger instant follow-up, while process changes and supplier collaboration ensured staff buy-in. Results include a 120% increase in mean time between failures, a 50% drop in unplanned maintenance, a 41% reduction in emergency work orders and an 11% reduction in direct repair costs.
