Case Study: The Warehouse achieves supply chain efficiency gains with B2BE

A B2BE Case Study

Preview of the The Warehouse Ltd Case Study

The Warehouse use e-ordering and ASN’s to streamline their stock procurement

The Warehouse Ltd, a major New Zealand retailer, faced significant challenges due to its paper-based procurement system. With over 800 suppliers and 89 stores, manual order processing led to errors, high operational costs, and poor stock visibility. Partnering with vendor B2BE, The Warehouse sought to automate its restocking processes using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions to streamline ordering and improve supply chain efficiency.

B2BE implemented an EDI solution that electronically managed orders, Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs), and invoices. The system translated documents between The Warehouse's format and those of its diverse suppliers, automating the entire procurement workflow. The results included a major reduction in manual data entry and errors, faster order processing, and improved supply chain visibility. Both The Warehouse and its initial pilot suppliers began seeing significant process improvements that were expected to lead to ongoing cost savings for all parties involved.
