Sylvania Lighting UK, a part of the global SLI lighting group, faced a two-fold challenge: the high administrative burden of manual processing through its distributor network and a significant number of invoice mismatches. To solve this, they partnered with vendor B2BE to implement an electronic data interchange (EDI) solution.
B2BE implemented a two-part solution using their Transaction Delivery Network (TDN) for EDI connectivity. Crucially, they built a custom web-based Purchase Order Approval interface that automatically validates orders against Sylvania's product masterfile for accuracy. This eliminated manual intervention for price and product matching. The results included dramatically improved data accuracy, a proactive process for resolving exceptions with distributors, and a guarantee that invoices are processed correctly the first time, ensuring on-time and in-full delivery of goods.
