Canterbury District Health Board rolls out a low cost but highly effective e-procurement system

Canterbury District Health Board needed a low-cost, effective system to track purchase orders and eliminate the laborious process of manually faxing over 200 forms daily. They engaged vendor B2BE to find a solution that leveraged their existing processes without requiring expensive new software.

B2BE implemented an automated solution using EDI and an automated fax gateway to distribute purchase orders electronically. This provided the Board with full process tracking and confirmation of delivery. The solution saved an estimated half a person-year in labor costs annually, leading to a rollout to more departments and plans to expand the system for receiving shipment and invoice information from suppliers.
