Michelli Weighing & Measurement, a dealer, faced a challenge when their end user's existing single/double rail scale could no longer accommodate new, longer railcars that entered the fleet. This rendered the previously smooth weighing operation inefficient and costly. The vendor, B-TEK, was engaged to solve this fleet-wide weighing problem.

B-TEK's solution involved a full fleet review and the implementation of a custom double/double configuration. This was built using four independent B-TEK Rail Scales integrated with an indicator running a custom program. The system allows operators to selectively enable or disable scale modules based on the railcar being weighed, providing the flexibility to handle every car in the fleet without sacrificing throughput or accuracy.
