Priceline Provides Fast, Accurate Data with Azul

Priceline, a major travel booking site, needed to deliver instant, accurate hotel pricing from thousands of properties but was crippled by Java garbage-collection problems in its custom in-memory cache. To keep data fresh and meet customer demand, Priceline adopted Azul Platform Prime to stabilize JVM behavior and support its large-scale Java workloads.

Azul Platform Prime removed GC-driven outages and made Priceline’s massive in-memory cache practical, allowing the system to handle huge data volumes without emergency intervention. As a result, garbage collection is no longer a factor, engineers were freed from JVM tuning to build new features, and Priceline reported the first holiday period without being called in for memory issues after going live with Azul.
