iPinYou Improves Ad Success Rates with Azul

iPinYou, a leading AI and big data advertising platform in China, needed to handle massive traffic—about 400,000 queries per second and petabytes of data each day—while improving the performance and reliability of its Java-based ad servers. To support its ad serving infrastructure, iPinYou turned to Azul Systems and Azul Platform Prime.

Azul Systems implemented Azul Platform Prime to power iPinYou’s Java ad servers, helping store more data in memory, eliminate garbage collection pauses, and simplify operations. The result was lower latency, better SLA compliance for bidding requests, a higher win ratio, and a 20% increase in platform throughput, while also allowing iPinYou to increase heap capacity and reduce the number of JVM instances.
