C24 Technologies, a financial services messaging and integration software company, needed a way to avoid unpredictable JVM memory management and garbage collection pauses when storing OTC derivatives data in Java-based systems. The challenge was to support demanding SLAs for FpML and in-memory data storage while reducing hardware requirements and improving performance.

Azul Systems, using Azul Prime with C24 Integration Objects (C24-iO) SDO message compaction, helped compress complex XML messages and cut the memory footprint for stored data by more than 10x. The result was up to 5x lower costs and 3x better performance, with more consistent response times, fewer and larger nodes, and the ability to serve more users and transactions on the existing stack without changing code.
