Arbitron, an international media and marketing research firm, launched its Portable People Meter (PPM) to track consumer media exposure but ran into operational stability problems and long garbage‑collection pauses under heavy loads. To address these issues, Arbitron engaged AZUL SYSTEMS and evaluated Azul Appliances for their Java-based PPM system (which runs on JBoss).

AZUL SYSTEMS deployed Azul Appliances to the PPM environment, eliminating garbage‑collection pauses and out‑of‑memory errors.
