Mastering Accountancy with Mind Mapping

Cardiff and Vale College, through accountancy lecturer Alison Jones, needed a way to teach dense, theory-heavy AAT accountancy topics that often left students bored or overwhelmed by rules and regulations. To tackle this, Jones introduced Ayoa’s iMindMap and mind mapping techniques to add colour, structure and visual clarity to lessons and handouts.

Using Ayoa’s iMindMap, she mapped key stages, created flowcharts, and used end-of-lesson pop quizzes and visual handouts to reinforce learning. The approach noticeably improved student engagement and revision—students’ understanding “significantly increased,” study time became more productive, and learners across visual and read-write preferences reported better retention and confidence.
