Cambridge Sound Management, a leader in commercial sound masking, developed Nightingale, a smart home sleep system that uses dual units and 15 tuned "sound blankets" to mask disruptive noises and improve sleep. To bring Nightingale to market as a connected consumer product—with integrations to Nest, Ring, Amazon Alexa and Philips Hue via IFTTT—the company needed robust, end-to-end IoT connectivity so its engineers could focus on acoustics rather than cloud and device infrastructure.

They selected Ayla Networks’ IoT cloud platform to handle device, cloud and mobile app connectivity along with security, performance, scalability and interoperability. Ayla’s platform enabled Nightingale’s full feature set and mobile control, supported popular integrations, and helped Cambridge Sound Management launch on Kickstarter, with shipping slated for early 2017.
