A Axya Case Study
The customer, Airbus, operates the A220 final assembly line in Mirabel, Quebec, where a sophisticated supply chain required a more efficient procurement process. Their challenge was to optimize the sourcing of thousands of custom components by standardizing and automating their request for quotation (RFQ) process, which was previously managed through emails and was time-consuming. To address this, Airbus partnered with the vendor Axya to implement its source-to-pay platform.
Axya's solution digitized and automated non-value-added tasks such as transmitting RFQ packages to suppliers, sending follow-ups, compiling data for quote comparisons, and synchronizing information with internal systems. This resulted in a more than 90% reduction in the time required to manage RFQs. Furthermore, the platform provided key quantitative data and KPIs on supplier performance, enabling Airbus to make strategic improvements. The overall RFQ processing time was reduced by over 25%, allowing parts to be sourced faster and production to be accelerated.
