Advanced Video Surveillance and Access Control Solution for the Federal University of Goiás

Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG), one of Brazil’s largest public universities, needed a way to manage vehicle access, monitor strategic campus areas, and improve physical security for students and staff. The institution also wanted facial recognition with block/allow watch lists and a system capable of handling access for about 36,000 students and employees each day. AxxonSoft addressed these needs with its Axxon One VMS and Axxon PSIM platform.

AxxonSoft implemented an integrated security solution combining video surveillance, facial recognition, LPR/ANPR, and access control integration with Control ID. The system centralized watch list management through AxxonNet cloud services and enabled real-time monitoring of people and vehicles across the campus. As a result, UFG significantly reduced risks of theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access, and the system is now fully operational, with plans to expand to around 2,000 cameras.
