SUEZ embarks on its digital transformation journey with ultra-efficient, API-driven services

SUEZ, the Paris‑headquartered leader in water and recycling services operating across five continents, set out to accelerate its digital transformation to reduce manual processes, improve customer experience, and better share data across 24 business units. Its legacy enterprise service bus could not cope with the higher volume and velocity of data that new projects demanded, creating a clear need for an API‑driven approach.

To address this, SUEZ deployed AMPLIFY API Management in the Axway cloud to build, secure and govern APIs centrally while letting business units manage their own catalogs. The platform powers secure customer portals, federates master customer data, and already processes about 15 million transactions per month (projected 20 million by end of 2020); SUEZ is also piloting an IoT‑enabled, API‑driven recycling collection solution to automate scheduling, improve routing and reduce manual work and costs.
