A Axway Case Study
Continental Corporation’s Automotive Group, a Hanover‑based global supplier founded in 1871 with 78,000 employees and operations at more than 130 sites, faced a fragmented EDI/EAI landscape after years of mergers and acquisitions. The company needed a homogeneous, global platform to standardize functionality, streamline partner and customer on‑boarding, and add stability, security and dependability to critical business processes.
In 2008 Continental consolidated onto Axway TradeSync Integration Manager (TSIM) as a central integration hub, connecting 44 ERPs, ~5,000 partner links and handling over 18,000 transactions daily. The move guaranteed core processes (invoicing, ASNs, inventory reporting), reduced maintenance and licensing costs, improved internal and partner service levels, simplified the skill set for a 16‑person global EDI team, and delivered additional communications cost savings and enhanced security through OFTP2.
