A Axway Case Study
Valeo, a global automotive supplier, needed to standardize and extend electronic communications with its suppliers — including small vendors and those in countries without established EDI infrastructure — so plants worldwide could efficiently exchange orders, delivery notes and inventory messages. The challenge was to provide a single, easy-to-use EDI capability that worked across Valeo’s SAP template and supported multiple languages and regional needs.
Valeo implemented Axway WebEDI as its global WebEDI platform, integrating 52 plants in 18 countries and more than 1,200 suppliers (about 44,000 messages exchanged weekly). The solution supports delivery instructions, Kanban, delivery notes, invoices, credit notes and stock movements, and offers email alerts, CSV downloads, single sign-on, multilingual/Unicode support, free barcode-label printing and 24/7 support. Results include standardized supplier processes worldwide, optimized incoming-goods handling with high-quality barcode data, measurable cost savings and ongoing plans to expand functions such as payment notifications and VMI.
