Reduced Costs and Better Business Agility through Axway Supply Chain Integration

Electrolux, a global leader in home and professional appliances selling over 40 million products annually across 150 countries, faced a complex supply-chain integration challenge as it expanded globally. With more than 5,000 external partners, roughly 450 internal applications and nearly a million messages per month across many EDI and XML formats, the company needed secure, reliable, real-time communication and the flexibility to handle frequent changes without restructuring IT for each new partner or format.

Electrolux implemented Axway’s Synchrony suite (Gateway, Integrator and Transfer with Secure Relay) as a centralized communications hub to automate routing, translation, validation and secure AS2 transfer, plus a web-based EDI portal for non-EDI partners. The solution improved agility and data-exchange robustness, centralized and secured communications, halved maintenance overhead relative to growth, doubled trading relationships without proportional staffing increases, reduced downtime and lowered costs while speeding partner integration and order monitoring.
