The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) in the Netherlands — responsible for safety and sustainability across transport, infrastructure, environment and housing — processes roughly 100,000 permit applications a year with a 500-person back office and 900 inspectors. ILT struggled with legacy browser-based uploads of gigabytes of supporting documentation that frequently timed out, creating delays for customers and extra manual work for staff.

ILT augmented its existing Axway platform with Syncplicity, B2Bi and the Amplify API Management Platform to integrate large-file uploads into its web portal, automate transfers into its document management system, and build digital workflows for about 300 permit types. The changes delivered faster access to regulatory data (50% quicker), a 70% boost in data quality, higher back-office efficiency, reduced manual effort and new mobile capabilities for inspectors, improving turnaround times and field inspections.
