Genzyme Meeting Global Initiatives with Axway Track & Trace

Genzyme, a global biotechnology company focused on treatments for rare and serious diseases, needed to roll out a single serialization and track‑and‑trace approach to meet multiple regulatory and business demands. The challenge was to comply with California, Brazil and Turkey pedigree rules and EPCIS requirements, streamline serial number management across global sites, and increase end‑to‑end supply‑chain visibility while preventing counterfeits and diversion.

Genzyme implemented Axway Track & Trace — a modular solution that supports ePedigree and EPCIS, a centralized event repository, and a global serial number generation system. The deployment enabled secure access to product pedigree data, integrated operations and customer‑service systems, prevented duplicate serial numbers across manufacturing sites, and delivered compliance (including Turkish requirements) plus analytics and customer‑service capabilities to detect and prevent serialization exceptions.
