Case Study: State of Indiana secures mobile file collaboration and eliminates shadow IT with Axway Syncplicity

Delivering security and mobility with a hybrid cloud solution

The Indiana Office of Technology (IOT) provides enterprise IT services to 100 state agencies and nearly 30,000 users, and needed a secure, centrally managed file-sharing solution to curb shadow IT. The agency required full data control and internal management, easy collaboration between central and field offices, and reliable online/offline mobile access — all while meeting strict security and policy requirements.

IOT deployed Syncplicity as a centralized Enterprise File Sync and Sharing solution with on‑premises storage (and later cloud options) and real‑time syncing. The rollout delivered enterprise-grade security with granular user/device/folder policies, fast adoption thanks to an intuitive UI, and widespread use across agencies — replacing FTP, shared drives and USB workflows and expanding seats by about 50% as demand grew.
