SNCF, France’s national railway operator, needed an industrial-strength way to capture business events from dozens of upstream systems and turn them into accurate accounting entries for a modern ERP. The challenge was to integrate with existing ERP and third-party systems, govern data at the business level, process massive volumes (including over 30 million payroll entries per month) and meet very tight month‑end closing deadlines.

SNCF implemented Axway’s Accounting Integration Suite (with Sentinel, ProcessManager, Automator and Interplay), using a rules engine to translate and validate business events into ERP-ready accounting entries. The platform delivered business-level data-flow governance, fully structured financial data, end-to-end traceability, secured account closings, and high reliability — processing 2.5 billion entries per year, meeting deadlines, and completing the project on time and on budget.
